The basic service unit of The
Salvation Army is the corps community center. Service extension
programs are available where no established corps community centers
exist. These units work with committees of local citizens to
identify and meet community needs.
Services range from medical
and dental assistance to sending children to summer camp or supplying
gasoline, food, and clothing to the needy. Service units provide
individual and emergency service according to general policies and the
decisions of local committees.
